PADI INSTRUCTOR Development Course
Think you’ve got what it takes to teach scuba diving? Do you want to travel the world? Start an exciting new career? Add some flair to your regular ‘boring’ day job? Maybe you should consider becoming one of the elite members of the diving world who call themselves ‘Scuba Diving Instructors’! Here at the Diving Locker, we have several options available.
For those who have already achieved the Divemaster rating, the Instructor Development course (IDC), is a 9 to 10 day course consisting of the Assistant Instructor Course, followed by the Open Water Scuba Instructor course. Upon completion, candidates are eligible to attend a PADI Instructor Examination, held several times throughout the year here in Vancouver. Courses run throughout the year, and can be done over a series of weekends, or during the week.
For those open water students who have caught the diving fever, the Diving Locker offers a comprehensive 13 week Career Development Program. This course takes you through the PADI continuing education ladder all the way to Master Scuba Diver Trainer (MSDT). As an MSDT, you are certified to teach the PADI Open Water Course, Advanced, Rescue, Divemaster, and at least 5 Specialties. Also, as part of the course, you will receive your Emergency First Response Instructor rating, and Oxygen Delivery Instructor rating. The Career Development Program runs four times a year and is open to Open Water Divers who are at least 18 years of age.
