DRYSUIT Specialty
Despite global warming, it will be sometime before our waters are as warm as the tropics. For those who want to experience "cold water diving" while minimizing the "cold water", The Diving Locker offers ongoing drysuit courses. Drysuit training is a prerequisite for rentals from The Diving Locker, as well as most other dive shops. A drysuit pool session teaches you how to use a drysuit in a confined water setting, and how to handle the changes in buoyancy. A drysuit seminar includes an evening of basic theory behind how a drysuit works, proper care and maintenance of a drysuit, and a one hour pool session with a PADI Instructor or Divemaster. The PADI drysuit specialty includes everything contained in the drysuit seminar, as well as a book and video, and two ocean dives (one day of diving), with an Instructor. Upon completion, you will receive a PADI Drysuit Diver Certification card. Course price includes training materials, drysuit rental, and use of basic scuba gear. Personal gear is available at a reduced rental price.
